2 suggestions. 1: make sure you are starting with an empty session, i.e Control Center>KDE Components>Session Manager>Start with an empty session. 2: delete/move to trash your kwin config files in your ~/.kde/share/config/kwin* and logout and then back in. HTH. BTW, wouldn't it be easier to create a new user and get the kde settings to work like you want, or mv your whole .kde directory and start fresh, than to reinstall 9.1?
