I am looking for the specific package/driver names that I need to download, and what specific versions of those packages/drivers I should get, for the devices listed below. I'm also looking for helpful "How To" documents for configuring the devices. Finally, if SUSE 9.1 Professional ships with the latest driver for the device, please let me know that (so I don't waste my time downloading something that's already in the distro). And if anyone can offer any pointers or known "gotcha!" situations involving SUSE 9.1 Pro on this particular hardware, that would be helpful (linux-on-laptops.com doesn't really have much).
You want all the drivers before you start? Where's your sense of adventure? ;-) Unlike a Windows distro, Linux distros generally come with just about every driver included. Some drivers, such as video and printer, may not have all the functionality of their Windows counterparts, but if they are stable then they should be in the distro. Unfortunately many are 3rd party drivers so searching the manufacturer's site is often disappointing. I can say from experience that the Radeon and Realtek NIC will work with the drivers in the distro so you can check those 2 off. Jeff
