Not to try to hijack this thread, but what would happen if the drives ended up changing? Would that just be a matter of fixing the mountpoints in fstab and the grub/lilo configs? Or, is there more?
Not much more.. Maybe a few .conf files if they point by partitions rather than path.. I have done a few "transfers" but not too much problems have reared.. Might take a few fiddles to get all down pat, but not too much... Fastest and easiest is of course to get the disk back as the same unit it was.
