autofs daemon no longer starts

Here is what happens when I try to start the autofs daemon... # /etc/init.d/autofs start Starting service automounter ("files nis" does not provide any mounts) skipped This is SuSE 9.1 with all the latest updates via YOU. It prevents me from using mu USB floppy drive. Can anyone point me in the right direction? P.S.
