I have tried it and it doesnt work. I have also tried linux 3. The broblem is that suse boots in a resolution of 1024x768@85 so init 3 will not help.Does suse have a option to set the resolution before it boots?
IT Clown, try to boot Failsave from the boot menu, or, if you don't have this option, type 'vga=normal 3' in the parameter section before the boot timeout counter reached 0 and hit Enter. Once you see the login prompt, log on as root. If your problem is with the bootscreen resolution, call yast2 and select System -> Boot Loader Configuration. Edit the configuration file and change vga=XXX to whatever you want. 'hwinfo --framebuffer' shows the modes your graphic card supports. If your problem is with the X resolution, call sax2 and change the resolution there. HTH Michael BTW: please do not top quote, it is hard to follow a conversation this way. A real name would be nice as well ...
