About a month ago, I was setting up a computer with lindows to work with my envision lcd monitor. I kept getting "input not supported" on my screen. Tom Neilson responded to my distress call with the suggestion to not use the envision disk, but instead use "lcd" and 1024x768 for a 15" monitor. I did. It worked. After no support response from lindows and their desire go have me pay $50 per year for software included on other distributions, I decided that it is no wonder that windows and lindows sound so close. I formatted the disk, and installed suse 8.2. same problem, but the above solution does not work. only 640 x 480 works. ctrl-alt neg and pos do not make a change, ctrl-alt-backspace gets me back. I have been making my changes in sax2 under init 3 as root. By the way, the same monitor with 1024x768 works fine on my suse 8.0 machine but it is a 100mhz, 48mb machine, and I am too impatient! thoughts? -- John Sowden American Sentry Systems.
