Hi:
I have a USB memory stick I want to reformat. But I am not sure how to do that considering the submount mechanism that automatically mounts it when plugged in.
Any clues?
I'm hoping to avoid having to do it on Windows.
Thanks.
I would suggest unmounting the drive. Then use mkfs.msdos /dev/sda1 I did that with SUSE 8.0 - had to reboot because unmounting caused me to lose my keyboard, as my usb drive was messed up. You shouldn't experience that issue, but may. I left the drive connected while rebooting. Hope this helps, Don
