No, that one barely mentions SuSE. I was talking about ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/supplementary/X/XFree86/nvidia- installer-HOWTO. It says: Inside YOU enable "Installable and Installed Patches" for "Show Patch Category" and select "Download NVIDIA(r) Graphics Driver" from the patches list (usually at the bottom of the list). Note, that you need to mark it as "Update" (right mouse click) if you already installed it before and the driver was uninstalled - for any reason. Proceed as usual now. After YOU has finished restart your Xserver (i.e. logout from your Xsession) and you're fine. I've not been able to find the section it refers of YOU that it refers to. I have been fairly successful selecting another card (the FX5500 isn't listed) - cant' remember exactly which one now - but I can't get the 3D flag to come up in the "test" screen. julian. I've looked at SuSE instructions on NVidia's website, but I cannot find the yast configuration options mentioned on the HOWTO, or anything relating to a patch mentioned on recent posts here.
James Ogley gave me this tip: http://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/1.0-6111/README.txt. Is that what you looked at?
