What you mention below has been and still is our #1 hurdle for getting AD authentication to behave. That and handling password expirations from xdm/kdm/gdm. There is only one vendor that I know of that has this working out of the box, Xandros. In addition, there is a small company "Vintella" that markets a product that does what your looking for. Keith -----Original Message----- From: Jaco Greeff [mailto:suse@puxedo.org] I've been burning to try this out, but the thing that I haven't got my mind around it the following: If you are a laptop user, can you still login (e.g. at home) when the domain controller is not available? Are there any special "tricks" for getting this to work in both a "connected" and "disconnected" mode? Apart from that, I would also be very interrested in getting this going - if will solve one more problem... Jaco
