For the KDE desktop icons, are the horizontal and vertical grid spacings adjustable? I can't find anything in the Control Center or anywhere else.

In 3.2.1, you can edit ~/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals. In section: [DesktopIcons] GridXSpacing=25 Size=24 Size lets me choose what I want for icon size instead of the preselected sizes allowed in the control panel. GridXSpacing lets me set the horizontal spacing. I tried a GridYSpacing... didn't hurt anything, but didn't help either. Maybe 3.3 will allow this setting? Edit and restart the desktop. With 3.2.1, it seems all the icons have the same vertical size and that size is determined by the icon size, font size, and largest number of rows of text in the name of the icons. I try to use the smallest icon (32 was too big and 16 too small ... 24 just right!) and smallest font that I'm comfortable with along with making the names as short as possible (I try to keep the longest name no more than two rows). That gives me the smallest vertical size I can get. Have fun! Doug
