Hi We have three Fujitsu-Siemens Primergy Econel 10 servers running SuSE 8.2. I have tried to upgrade two of them to SuSE 9.1 to get the new improved Yast2 mail server configuration tool. But both computers freezes right after the CDROM boot menu - when I choose install the screen goes black and nothing happens even the Num-Lock button is dead.... I have tried "Installation", "Installation - without ACPI" and Installation - Safe-setting" and tried different video resolutions 1024x768, 800x600 and textmode (it defaults to 1024x768). Nothing helps.... According to SuSE's the computer was certified for SuSE Linux 7.2 and had the following configuration: Motherboard FSC Systembaugruppe D1239 Chipset: VIA VT8633 [Apollo Pro266] BIOS Phoenix BIOS v.4.06 Rev. 1.02.1239 CPU 1x Pentium III 933MHz / 256k Cache RAM 1x 128MB SDRAM Graphics ATI Technologies Inc. Rage XL AGP, 8MB Video SDRAM Ethernet 1x Intel EtherExpress Pro100 SCSI 1x LSI Logic (Symbios) SYM53C895A HDDs 1x Seagate ST320413A EIDE/UDMA100, 20GB SOUND (onboard) VIA AC97 Audio Controller (rev 10) Floppy 1x 3,5" Standard Tqape drive 1x HP C1537A DDS-3 SCSI DAT drive CD-ROM LTN483L, ATAPI 48x, 120kB Cache PowerSupply 1x ASTEC AA21850, 145 W Our servers don't have the Tape drive and I don't think they have the SCSI controller either even though they make a mysterias "Adapter Scan ..." at boot. There is nothing about a SCSI controller in the motherboard manual, so I guess certified configuration had the controller in a PCI slot.... Have anyone seen similar problems?? /Christian Bjørnbak
