Where is the suseplugger located? I want it back. (Complete with the nifty little icon in the "systray") -------------snip---------------
Since you kept good notes when you made this change to your system I will probably be seen as being redundent telling you that SuSEplugger is part of the "kdebase3-SuSE" package Apt told you to uninstall it as part of a (I suspect kde) upgrade because it is incompatable w/ (packaging of?) the newer kde version. This problem has been a recurring one ever since the first kdebase3-SuSE met the first kde upgrade, and apparently SuSE has no plans to keep this package in step w/ the rest of the kde packages. I'm surprised you recieved so many replies from people that hadn't seen or don't remember the numerous previous threads concerning this problem. Some people on the list have stated that you can safely install the kdebase3-SuSE package from the command line with the rpm --force option. Be warned though that after doing this apt-get (and YOU) will complain about conflicting packages each time you try to install new updates so you may have to uninstall and re-install the package each time you try to use these tools.
