Have a look at http://linux01.gwdg.de/apt4rpm/ for all the info you'll need about apt. The dependenciy issue is a function of rpm, not the add-on tool used. There's been a lot of discussion here recently, some of it still ongoing, about various installers, so have a look through the list archives. David
