I have the same problems but my spin is that i have a conflict with the user and ID number. My question is how does one input a name and number that will overwrite/update the current null number that exists?????? everything is ok except that jpilot will not do anything withn a null user ID number in place. It didn't work, but at least now I'm getting some feedback. When I tried to synch, I got the following messages:
pi_bind illegal seek check your serial port and setting Exiting with status SYNC_ERROR_BIND Finished.
OK. The thing to check first is what port your Palm is connecting on. The easy way to do this is with tail -f /var/log/messages and then to plug in the Palm and start a Hotsync. The output should show the ports that it's connecting to (or an error if there's a problem).
Next, try pilot-xfer -p /dev/usb/ttyUSB1 -l
This should list the databases on your Palm - if it fails, try /dev/usb/ttyUSB0.
Once this works, put the same information into JPilot and all should go fine.
