You need mode lines for each resolution. Have you tried Sax2 and configured at a bunch of resolutions?

would change the screen resolution. In 9.1 they dont work. is this left out of x.org?? is there a new command.
They work for me. In /etc/X11/XF86Config, have you more than one mode listed against Modes in Subsection "Display" of Section "Screen"? If not, then you won't be able to change screen size unless you add some modes, say "800x600" "640x480".

i do have it set for that ability but the resoltuions dont switch.
Section "Screen" DefaultDepth 16 SubSection "Display" Depth 15 Modes "1280x1024" "1152x864" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480" EndSubSection SubSection "Display" Depth 16 Modes "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600" EndSubSection
Not SaX2 just direct edit I am using color depth 16 and it has 3 resolutions. Why cant I use those?
Just found out why its the keypad + or - which must be used. I guess it pays to read most all posts rather than sticking to a few threads. CWSIV
