How to configure a modem-router in suse 9.1?

Hi, I didn't found on the Suse book how to configure a modem-router on suse? How can I do this? Where can I found this information? Also, I want to resize my linux partition to separate the /home directory from the remainder. e.g create a new partition where I can put the home directory.
