Thansks for the reply but I did go to YaST2 and
reinstall the sound card that went fine but I still
get a lot of that static background sound and
distorded sound...for some reason I think this might
be a module or dirver issue since the static start as
soon as the sound module is loaded... for now I need
to turn off the speaker before I go Crazy!
and for the yast -i *.rpm I saw that somewere in the
list as one of the eazy way to install new Kde
package.. next time I do an update .. I will try
reinstalling the sound card again later
Thanks

Curious as to why you used "-i"? You should have used -U or -F to update your already installed KDE. I'm going to guess that since you used -i to install, that you will need to go to YaST2 and reconfigure your sound. If your old info is still there, delete it and start over.

Replying to my own email. I missed the yast -i *.rpm you said you used and was thinking of rpm -i *.rpm instead. Usually doing an update, most use the rpm -Fhv or -Uhv *.rpm on the files.
I still believe the resolution is correct in getting your sound going though.
