On SUSE9, I have downloaded and installed KDE 3.1 from the repositories with Synaptic, having first uninstalled KDE 3.1.
Although I installed all the listed KDEnetwork packages, both KMail and Knode are missing from the upgrade. In fact, quite a few programs are no longer listed in the menu. But the missing kMail is the more important at the moment.
Has anyone else had this problem? I can't find it mentioned in the list archives.
I'm not sure about 3.1 but for 3.2 kmail is now in a package called kdepim. kmail conflicts with kdenetwork3 which holds up knode. I just figured it our last night and now kmail, knode, kscd, and konsole are working great. My list of bugs evaporated with one tweak. Also did you restart KDE after the new packages were installed? - -- Ottawa, Canada Collector of vintage computers http://www.ncf.ca/~ba600 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFAU1+7LPrIaE/xBZARAi77AJwN8YqyN+teUs3qdZvXN22zM+6fAACgwr3q i5m6lN/E4FTYLkI5Hm47XIw= =Ayp4 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
