I've also played with framebuffer support in kernel (I marked only VESA and unchecked all the others ) but nothing changed. I don't know what to do. What can be happening?
Thanks
It undoubtedly has to do with the way you have the console set up for booting. I went through the same problems. You must have changed something between 2.6.2 and 2.6.3. I finally got it working fine.
The problem is that I copy the .config from 2.6.2 to the 2.6.3 source=20 directory, do a make menuconfig, save the file equal to 2.6.2 and the problem still remains.
The video chipset is a

I did see a post in the kernel mailing list I think, it said that framebuffer stuff was still not sorted. There was also a patch put out for many cards, but it did not include my FX5200, so I didn't try applying it when it was issued about early February. I've been using vga=normal with all 2.6.x kernels after playing around unsuccessfully with fbset and different vesa numbers. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ....
