-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I am hoping someone here can help. A few months ago I asked the NG about the Hawking wu250. At the time I hadn't gotten 9.0 so I couldn't try anything. Well I have 9.0 and have a week off from school in which to get it running on my desktop (laptop's been running it since November). The big hitch is the Hawking wu250 a usb wireless acess point (I think that's what it is called). When I loaded suse, and went through the network setup, I selected wireless, then set up the essid and wep. Then I selected prism2_usb.o from the list. When I selected USB (vice PCMCIA) the the driver name unhighlighted. I clicked finish and it did it's thing. The little tower had the link light lite. I rebooted, and during the system init, wlan-usb came up as 'hotplug' and the system started in the normal way. When I tried to ping the router, it came back no network connection. An ifconfig only had 'lo' and not wlan0 or wlan-usb. I checked dmesg and it came back that prism2_usb.o was loaded and two more lines only. A /sbin/depmod -a came back with nothing. ifup wlan-usb came back with an error... I tried googling and checking back NG entries and couldn't find anything that helped. I do know that linux-wlan-ng list this as one that works with wlan-ng. I wanted to see if I can get prism2_usb to work first before going that route. thanks - -- Adolph & Sharon Weidanz S/V Time To Paws 43' 1978 Endeavour Ketch -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (MingW32) iD8DBQFASSwAlC+PSm9+eB0RAlP7AKCLxYt8ilCp+YZ4SqXeYjLXSzI2XQCfe+P9 PTPd0L1lWrZpkDmk4qOjn7I= =gnJp -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
