hi,

from /etc/xinetd.c/telnet: service telnet { socket_type = stream protocol = tcp wait = no user = root server = /usr/sbin/in.telnetd server_args = -L /bin/whatever }

I notice that the in.telnetd man page doesn't mention the "-L" option ... but then again, I know that other folks have done it (http://honor.trusecure.com/pipermail/firewall-wizards/2001-September/011234....).
Any input appreciated.
Yeah, the suse version of telnetd seems to have the option "L" removed, though it's still supported in the source. You'll need to patch telnetd/ telnetd.c and add "L:" to the valid_opts string Or, if you prefer, you can get the patched rpm I just built. Let me know
