However after updating to alsa v1.0.2 the sound seems to be better (it does not have a lot of static like before). However, I cant play more that one sound at a time i.e. while xmms is playing, I can't start xine with sound, or kaffeine etc. Is there a way to fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
This is the job of artsd. If not installed, then do that first. You need to enable the artsd plugin for xmms, and xine, (etc). Then artsd will multiplex sound from varuous sources even into a dumb single channel sound card. -- _____________________________________ John Andersen
