Hi list, I am trying to get java working in Opera 7.50p1 on a 8.2 pro box. Running opera -debug java in a terminal gives me: opera: [java] failed to load libawt.so: libawt.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory opera: [java] failed to load libjawt.so: libjawt.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory opera: [java] failed to load a suitable awt library. Java will not work opera: Could not initialize spell check. Error code -7 opera: Could not initialize M2 I'm only interested in the java issues at the moment. In Opera under Tools->Preferances->Multimedia I have tried the following paths: /usr/lib/SunJava2-1.4.1/jre/lib/i386/ and also /usr/lib/BlackdownJava2-1.4.1/jre/lib/i386/ both give the same result. I have also tried adding the following to .bashrc (saw it on the net somewhere regarding this issue) export JAVA_HOME=/usr/lib//usr/lib/SunJava2-1.4.1 export PATH=$JAVA_HOME/bin:$PATH And tried it with BlackdownJava as well. This doesn't improve the situation. Seems to be a path related issue, but it beats me. For what it is worth, 'java -version' returns: java version "1.4.1" Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build Blackdown-1.4.1-01) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build Blackdown-1.4.1-01, mixed mode) And 'which java' returns: /usr/lib/java/jre/bin/java Any help or pointers would be MUCH appreciated. -- Regards, Roland Hill Registered Linux User #330226 http://pl.net/~rnrhill/rhweb.htm @ http://counter.li.org
