Please DON'T SHOUT! And answer on the list unless necessary.
Why floppy size?
YEAH, I KNOW. AT FIRST I THOUGHT THE SYSTEM BACKUP WOULD BE JUST A FEW MEGS AND THUS A FEW FLOPPIES. I WENT TO THE STORE, CAME BACK AND "HOLY...." WAS THE FIRST THING OUT OF MY MOUTH. LIVE AND LEARN.
You could have repeated the backup.
Oh, well...
1)Could I somehow restore the backup that I did through the Yast GUI without having windowed (KDE) environment?
Try mc (midnight commander). It is possible to open each tgz and copy the contents elsewhere.
ARE YOU SUGGESTING I OPEN ALL 700?
Yessss.... O:-) Once you figure the structure, you can automate it and expand them all with tar, and perhaps a script. Then you can create a single file with the same structure, and feed it Yast. Or play with Yast till you convince it to work. -- Saludos Carlos Robinson
