Hi all, once again, both LILO and GRUB are driving me mad... Scenario 1: a running (powered on) system. I can reboot it every time I want and LILO/GRUB appears on screen so I can choose from the menu. So far, so good... Scenario 2: I turn off the system (init 5 or halt -p) and go to bed (that's not relevant but some people often ask for all the details ;-) ). Some hours later I power on the system and... oops!. After the mandatory BIOS checks, the system freezes at: LI 04 or, sometimes much simpler: L 04 So, I must boot from CDROM and rewrite LILO to the MBR (the same situation occurs when using GRUB). With LILO it's even odd to see that the 'lba32' is deleted/turned off after the system freezes and I boot from CDROM, so I must set it again to the correct value (true). Anyone can shed some light?? I'm running out of ideas on this issue... Thanks in advace! Regards, Martin
