How much physical ram do you have and how much is allocated to
VMware?
I have a gig with 256k allocated to W2K.
I looked at vmware.log and see where it seems to be delayed for 2 1/2 minutes, several times, "initializing the USB backend" whatever that means. Here is an example: notice the time jump.
Dec 19 17:19:20: mks| XINFO DGA 1800x1440x5568, fbSize 8017920, flags 0xe Dec 19 17:19:20: mks| XINFO DGA FB offset 0 Dec 19 17:19:20: vmx| Using unified VGA. Dec 19 17:19:20: vmx| SVGA frame buffer size 0x01000000 Dec 19 17:19:20: vmx| USB: Initializing UHCI host controller Dec 19 17:19:20: vmx| USB: Initializing USB Generic backend Dec 19 17:21:40: vmx| USBGL: CONTROL failed -1:110:Connection timed out Dec 19 17:21:40: vmx| requesttype=80 request=6 value=301 index=409
Try disabling USB in the w2k settings and start it up. If you have no delay then I would report this as a bug to VMware. You may find a report of this problem on there site already. Could be a problem with the MB that you are using also. Ken
