Well, I've downloaded j2sdk rpm from Sun java site. What have I to do now with respect to the OpenOffice dependencies problem. It depends on libjawt.so and with the installation of j2sdk I still have warnings about the this dependency. I assume I have to make some soft links I don't know.
After making links (adding config to /etc/java and then SuSEconfig) yast will still complain about libjawt.so. Just ignore it. When you will install OOo locally you will see the install script is happy to use installed j2re.
Thanks!. I did it. I configured /opt/java/SunJava2 file. As you said, there is still libjawt.so warnings. The problem here is I cannot use apt if I don't resolve it: bach:~ # apt-get upgrade Reading Package Lists... Done Building Dependency Tree... Done You might want to run `apt-get -f install' to correct these. The following packages have unmet dependencies: OpenOffice_org: Depends: libjawt.so but it is not installable E: Unmet dependencies. Try using -f. I if run 'apt-get -f install' OOficce is erased :(. So I'm wondering whether there is a way to resolve this dependence problem. I like apt very much. Regards.
