Thanks Lee... I did turn off hyperthreading in the BIOS, as well as Dual Channel Mem, but neither made any diff, still cannot ID any of the IDE devices.
Any more suggestions anyone?

Ok, sorry Chris, didn't pay attention to the version of SuSE you were installing. 8.1 and the supplied kernel is very likely to have problems with this motherboard.
