Any one else been able to get VMware to run?
Are you letting vmware-config.pl overwrite the vmware modules installed with km_vmware? I've not allowed this. I choose "no" when it asks. So far, the only problem I've had is that vmnet8 hangs on shutdown. However, this was on 4.0.2. I upgraded to 4.0.5, and that problem went away. The whole business seems slower than it did on 8.2, but maybe that's just me. I suppose the good news is that future kernel updates won't require you to go through vmware-config.pl any longer. (The SuSE kernel folks will have already done that for us, in essence.) So, there's that going for us.

I am using version 3.2.1 build-2242 I have the modules from the km_vmware modules loaded. I can run /etc/init.d/vmware start but when I try to start vmware I get the following error: Version mismatch with vmmon module: expecting 30.0, but got 10.0. You have an incorrect version of the 'vmmon' kernel module. Try reinstalling WMware Workstation. ---------------- If I run vmware-config.pl and over-write the modules vmware will start and load my VM but as soon as I hit the power on button it locks up. I've been using VMware for over 4 years and this is the first time I have this kind of problem. Ken Schmeider
