Fred,

After installing SuSE 9, kernel sources were installed and configured using
"make cloneconfig" and "make dep". After this, switched to runlevel 3, the
Nvidia package numbered 4496 was run and sax2 used to activate 3D. Switched
back to run level 5 and logged in.
