I just updated XFree86 in apt. I ran SuSEconfig. Now, I'm sure I need to restart x. How do I do this without rebooting?
Simply log out and back in will restart X for you. But in order to be really certain you should drop to a text console with ctrl-alt-f1 after you've logged out, log in as root, run rcxdm restart, then back to the graphical login with ctrl-f7 and log back in
Anders, Is this the same thing as pressing ALT-e after logging out (once your at the graphical login screen)? Thanks, D.C.
