Have you read what SuSE has on its site? Click on this and read what is said there-

Thanks. I did do that though a little late. My option II or III would not work as I needed the kernel source which I failed to notice on the 3rd disk of personal 8.2. I tried downloading it, but it stalled always at 99%. So I put the original kernel in and used the nvidia-installer and enabled 3d: works great. I went back to the Athlon kernel now, but noticed no increase in performance. Also Tux racer no longer loads with the new card. Who cares though. Other 3d programs work.
An excellent how to from SuSE (the above). My only complaint is that the Kernel Source is not listed in Yast software install anywhere for the personal version. Yet it is on the 3rd disk. That really sucks!
The source not listed, eh? Someone may confirm this or tell me that I am raving, but I thought the same thing occurred to me, and I am running the Professional version, when I to install the kernel source. It didnt' appear in the lost of available software, and I *think* I had to do a Search for it before it showed up - or something. I know that it is showing up in red lettering in the list of installed software now that it is installed. -- Understanding only begins with the act of perception.
