James is right and the original poster is mistaken.
SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 8 (SLES8) consists of four CDs. CDs 2, 3 and 4 of this comprise UnitedLinux - these 3 CDs are also contained in the "powered by UnitedLinux" offerings of the other UnitedLinux partners. CD1 is what makes it specifically SLES8.
The SuSE Linux OpenExchange Server 4 (SLOX) is also "powered by UnitedLinux": it contains the same identical 3 CDs but a different CD1.
Neither 8.1 nor 8.2 is "powered by UnitedLinux", and neither is based on the same code base. However 8.1 and UnitedLinux are binary compatible and those packages from 8.1 which are not included in SLES8 should install correctly on SLES8.

Roger, and others.. As I myself just run 8.1 & 8.2 Pro in my own production environments, I haven't had a good shot at looking on neither SLES nor SLOX before. But now since one of my new clients runs both, I borrowed the disk sets from them to take a look at what they really are.. So, please correct me if I come to erroneous conclusions here, but as of what I can read out of the package listings etc. I see this; SLES is a package is basically the same, or very close to the Pro series in functionality, but sitting on top of United Linux instead of a "standard" linux.
