Hi guys, This has now taken a possible turn for the worst... This question prompted an analysis of the site usage for the last year or so, since it was moved onto a cluster of new web servers. Up until now, usr local bin has existed and persisted as a result of the good will of my employer. I am extremely grateful to them for providing the hardware and bandwidth, that the site has required. There was really no need for them to do this, and they have provided this service to the SuSE community as much as I have. However, after reading the report on the usage as produced for me by my boss, I think that said good will may be about to run out. The trend has been that the traffic on the site has been increasing. Over the last seven days, the average traffic has been over 500M/day, with some days topping 1G. Last month, I served 13.6G, and already this month, it's been 11.2G! You can see why this would cause concern. Bottom line is the very existence of the site may be in jeopardy, given I can't afford the hardware to expand the options of what packages I provide, I certainly can't afford the sort of hosting the site requires now, never mind what it would require were I to create a full GNOME distribution. Right now, I'm asking if anyone knows of potential sponsors, anyone who can offer hosting with the sort of disk space and bandwidth I need, ideally in the UK, for free. The site currently stands at just under 300M, but with a full GNOME distribution, this would grow a lot. Again, many thanks for all the support I've been shown. James
What are the relative numbers of downloads for the different packages? That might help answer the question regarding who is only interested in getting individual packages as against those who would like a full gnome distribution. However, I'm guessing, but I think the latter is probably what you're itching to do.
