Dear all,
we tried to install a new bcm5700 NIC driver under SLES8 but
#insmod bcm5700
is telling us:
Using /lib/modules/2.4.19-64GB-SMP/kernel/drivers/net/bcm/bcm5700.o /lib/modules/2.4.19-64GB-SMP/kernel/drivers/net/bcm/bcm5700.o: kernel-module version mismatch /lib/modules/2.4.19-64GB-SMP/kernel/drivers/net/bcm/bcm5700.o was compiled for kernel version 2.4.19-4GB while this kernel is version 2.4.19-64GB-SMP
Any ideas in order to get the right compilation?

Hi, Seen same problem just this morning with Asus p4c800 motherboard and onboard 3com gigabit ethernet. Solution was in readme file. ---- from readme ----- Note: on SuSE systems since 7.1, you will have to execute the following commands before running make: cp /boot/vmlinuz.version.h /usr/src/linux/include/linux/version.h cp /boot/vmlinuz.autoconf.h /usr/src/linux/include/linux/autoconf.h For more details se http://sdb.suse.de/en/sdb/html/mwalter_kernel_24.html --------------------------------- This worked for me. regards, Jari
