Yessir, Alasplayer has *always* worked for me, and last night on a couple of suggestions, I found half my problem with kscd (the other half was my own stupidity...I had the wire lead from the dvd in the wrong plugin on my soundcard). For sound to work on my system with kscd, I found out that depending on what plugin I used on my soundcard, it used 'Aux' or 'CD' in alsamixer to raise or lower the volume for kscd. 'But'...since kscd doesn't seem to utilize all the functions of emu10k1 with alsamixer, I stay with alsaplayer, since it's much more 'adjustable' (like a graphics equalizer). If YaST2 doesn't get you up to speed, try alsaconf in a konsole as root and see how that works. John - -- - -----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK----- Version: 3.12 G! d- s+:++ a?
