Hi All, I have just purchased a copy of 8.2 pro. I have also purchased a HP laptop, so I can put SUSE on it and just play with it and hopefully set up a machine to play with some security stuff. I have used Suse on and off for about 3 years, work always seems to get into the way though. I am trying to use the documentation to allow for me to learn as I play. I am having problems getting Tripwire to work, it gives me an error message stating that it cannot read the config file or it is not in the correct format (tw.cfg), and I get an error message about not having sufficent permissions on kppp, and to make sure that I have the file owned by root and the sticky bit set. I have done this and I am still not able to dial out, and when I try to play with Tripwire I get the same error messages. I would appreciate it if someone can offer up some of the following information Where is a good reference for learning security, and using linux as a security tool ? Where is a good place to look on my suse system to find out more information about what the errors mean and how to trouble shoot them for myself. ? Thanks in advance. Shane Broomhall Brisbane Aust
