I just installed Mozilla 1.4RC2(on Suse8.0) by downloading the binary from http://www.mozilla.org/releases/ Why even bother with RPMS? :-) RC2 fixed a few flaws in RC1... Finally it seems like blocking pop ups works... DB Troll wrote:

Well, the README in the directory says that they are for 8.2 so I'm not sure I would install them on 8.0. If I were you I'd go to mozilla.org and grab the tar.gz file of 1.4rc1. They have one that just decompresses into a mozilla directory. You could rename your existing directory and uncompress the rc1 into /opt so that you don't loose the other one in case 1.4rc1 isn't up to what you expect. If you then want to get rid of 1.4 then you just delete the directory it's in and rename the previous directory back to mozilla and your no worse for wear. That would be what I would do.
Thanks Ben, I will do as you suggested, I was just hoping to use a rpm so that in the future it would be easier to upgrade. I have not figured out how to use checkinstall with mozilla tar.gz.
