Can anybody give me some info about how to 1) Start vncserver automatically (configure it as other services and be able to control it with YaST runlevel editor) 2) Be able to log on vncserver and get the kdm (or gdm or...) login window, eventually sharing the same screen as the one running on the box itself
Thank you for you patience and for any help
Andreas
If you are using the KDE desktop, then simply enable desktop sharing and skip all the way to "sharing the same screen as the one running on the box itself". It works fine. I am not aware of a way to bring up a kdm/gdm/xdm login window with VNC, nor am I aware of a way to do multiple user type stuff with VNC, that is the domain of xdmcp. Also let me warn you that running xdmcp open to the internet is full of potential issues. It is not secure. You might setup a VPN link to your system and that would place the remote machine on your network virtually and securely for your xdmcp session. -- Kelly L. Fulks Home Account near Huntsville, AL
