I need to be able to type the following without major obsticles. I spent dozens of hours getting this working in the past. It is no longer working. Can someone tell me how to get the compose keyboar back under 8.2?
I think you need to specify which type of keyboard you're using. With the International PC-105 keyboard, it's pretty easy.
ð = alt-gr + d þ = alt-gr + t ó = ' (dead key) + o á = ' (dead key) + a æ = alt-gr + ä on a swedish keyboard, a separate key on a danish
Unfortunately that isn't working for me. There used to be 'compose' options with the keyboad types, or something along those lines. They seem to have vanished. This is truly frustrating.

Indeed. I usually try to avoid terms such as 'Viking'. It's easier to explain, but carries too many bad connotations, and really isn't representative of most of the people from that region and period. Archaeology is beginning to show these people were, ingeneral, far more peaceful than the accounts, and sensationalism would have us believe. OTOH, when my keyboard starts acting like this...
