I exactly asked the same - 1. When do I need to run depmod? Before or after ldconfig? And when do I do that? Before the kernel/GLX install, in-between them or after them? [I presume after them]
Any way, the unified installer does a compile itself.
But the unified installer shall not let me tweak the sources as comfortably as I can do before "make install", would it?
