I just pulled a flash pcmcia card out of an old Cisco 1000 router that we suspect has had the .bin file wiped from it. I know the cards use a *nix file system, so I thought it would be worth trying to mount it in a Linux box to see if we could read it and find out for sure. However, I have no idea what the device name would be or how to find it. I ran hwinfo from within YaST, but didn't see anything that looked like it would be it.
Ideas anyone ?
Info on that card should be available in /var/log/messages when the card is inserted. The pcmcia system should either identify it or log it as an unidentified card. Not sure if that helps, but thought it would be a good first step. -- John LeMay KC2KTH Senior Enterprise Consultant NJMC | http://www.njmc.com | Phone 732-557-4848 Specializing in Microsoft and Unix based solutions
