Seeing your last sentence about a DVD writer. Does Linux support one? If so what software is required? Mariusz Jurgieliewicz wrote:
I got Panasonic LF-D310 drive. It is recognized by system. SuSE 8.2 even creates CD-R icon for it. In K3bSetup however it's shown only in reader's list. I cannot add it manually. I thought that maybe I need dvdrtools so I installed this package, no difference. Both cdrecord -scanbus and dvdrecord -scanbus can recognize my drive. XCDRoast on the other hand has no problems with detection but does not support DVD writting.
Any hints?
thanks
