Re: [SLE] Proliant 2500 install question

Thanks for the information. I have tried using the Linux 8.1 professional CD Set Install CD #1 and using CD #2 gets me a bit further. It gets beyond the RAMDISK hang and prompts for CD #1. After inserting CD 1 I am told that I do not have enough memory to run YaST and in order to continue I have to activate some swap space. I attempt to do so but get an error activating swap space. I have 328MB of ram installed. I guess I am lost but will not give up trying. It seems that it does not recognize the SCSI controller and the amount of RAM installed. Radu Voicu wrote:

P.S. I suppose you DO have more than 128Mb RAM on that machine, do you?

If both fails, then contact your SuSE dealer...

Has anybody had any success installing SuSE 8.1 Professional linux on a Compaq Proliant 2500 server? The install process hangs at RAMDISK: Compressed image found at block 0. If so, can you provide some advice. Many thanks in advance.
