Any hints as to how to fix the problem, or even how to uninstall the ATI display drivers and revert to my functioning Xfree-setup??
Well, I haven't managed to get the hardware accellaration working properly with my ATI card yet (the ATI configuration not working at all for me), but I might be able to give some assistance. :) On my machine, the old XF86Config file was still available in the /etc/X11 directory. The ATI config file is named XF86Config-4 in that same directory. You should be able to restore your old situation by removing (or safer perhaps: moving) the XF86Config-4 file. You might be able to fix your mouse by copying the mouse section from your XF86Config file to the XF86Config-4 file, overwriting the mouse settings in that last file of course.
