I am trying to install Suse Linux 8.1 on an old computer that has
less
than 64MB of memory.
FTP installation fails when it tries to activate swap space.
Have you created a swap artition and told yast where to find it?
Yes. It is actually successfully found when I do the CD install.
I burned a CD with a subset of the installation directories, and I encountered some problems.
What problems?
Error installing some packages (I'll look into it in more details, but I suspect that some dependant packages were missing).
SFAIK, you cannot easily create an installation disk from the ftp repository.
