Do you need wu-ftpd specifically?
wu-ftpd is our Corporate standard. Personally I don't really care which, but in this case I must comply. I use ftpd elsewhere.
Why are you unable to use xinetd?
xinetd is not used an Solaris or HP-UX which is where most of my fellow sysadmins are coming from. As far as possible, I'm trying to standardise on one Linux distro with a uniform configuration. This helps the general acceptance of Linux in the enterprise. I can use xinetd but in our business standards are highly respected. Thanks, (and still looking...)
