Hi Folks,
I suspect I am being charged for calls made to connect to BTOpenworld Anytime from Linux, though I believe I should not be!
<snip> This has little (well, nothing really) to do with suse-linux-e and a lot to do with the NG btinternet.linux. But, unless BTI/O has changed radically in the month that I've changed from them (after over three years), dialling the correct number will not incur phone charges. IIRC, the stern warnings about using their dialler started just after Anytime was introduced. What was happening was that, due to the poor way they had worded their information, new subscribers to Anytime were still using the 0845 number believing that they would no longer be charged for their phone calls. So, are you absolutely sure you are dialling in with the 0808 number? I haven't used kppp for about a year or so. But, I think it's quite easy to check the number you're dialling into in it. Post your original message to the NG btinternet.linux. There are many helpful people there. -- Vic Ayres http://www.buckiechoral.org.uk
