Hi there,
Got a question about SLPro 8.1. I am interested in getting russian fonts
working, I have installed the bits required for both XFree86 and KDE3 to
support KOI-8/ISO-8859-5 fonts.
My normal settings in X for fonts/keymap is:
Option "XkbLayout" "en_US"
Option "XkbModel" "pc104"
Option "XkbRules" "xfree86"
Option "XkbOptions" "pc104"
Now, I have a happy hacking keyboard for work and I use the laptops own
keyboard (in US mode) when at home. All I want is to be able to display
russian characters in konsole, emacs, xterm, Evolution etc. and to be
able to in any application (preferably, some might not support it) type
russian characters. To flip X into supporting russian characters, I
issued the command "setxkbmap ru" and that seems to have done the trick
as when I do "xmodmap -pk" I see the bits I should in the output.
Has anyone here already done this and could help me on the way?
