I am attempting to setup Nagios using the rpms from: ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/ftp.suse.com/people/stark/nagios/ After the rpms are installed, I enabled Apache and nagios using YaST>System>Runlevel properties and rebooted my system. During boot-up I noticed that nagios failed and was directed to the following log in /var/log/nagios/config.err (text included at end of message) Accessing http://127.0.0.1/nagios/ brings up the web interface but no service information is available. All I get is whoops - Error: Could not read host and service status information! The included documentation is not sufficently clear as to where I should go from here. Primarily, I think because I used the rpms and not the source. Help in moving forward would be appreciated. Check your configuration file(s) to ensure that they contain valid directives and data defintions. If you are upgrading from a previous version of Nagios, you should be aware that some variables/definitions may have been removed or modified in this version. Make sure to read the HTML documentation on the main and host config files, as well as the 'Whats New' section to find out what has changed.
